Yes, the Foundation of Light is a Canadian Registered Charity. Established over 15 years ago in 2008, we are recognized by the Canadian government with the registration number 84096 4498 RR0001. As a registered charity, we have the authority to issue Canadian tax receipts for donations, enabling our donors to benefit from tax deductions
Yes, we gladly accept donations via Interac e-Transfer. Please use our e-Transfer email: [email protected] for your transactions. After completing the e-Transfer, kindly email us at: [email protected] with the transaction details to ensure we can properly track and acknowledge your generous donation.
We also welcome donations by cheque, interac e transfer and wire transfer.

Yes, The Foundation of Light is able to accept publicly listed securities. To donate securities, simply complete the Securities Transfer Form and have your broker transfer your shares electronically to The Foundation of Lights brokerage account with TD. Please send a copy of the completed form to [email protected]
The Foundation of Light will provide you with a charitable tax receipt for the full market value on the day they are received in our account.
We welcome you to use your talents and connections to raise money for projects you are passionate about. To set up an online fundraiser, click here and choose “Start a fundraiser” and invite your friends and family to donate.
Our campaigners have done some pretty creative things to raise money. Here are some ideas.
– Build a well in memory of your loved ones
– Donate your birthday or wedding by asking for donations instead of gifts.
– Classroom sponsorship of an orphan
Simply visit foundationoflight.org and click on donate and select a campaign. Then, click the donate button and on the next page, you’ll see a section titled “In memory of” which you can fill in someone’s honor.
The Foundation of Light operates on a 0% administration fee. 100% of your donation goes towards the campaign of your choosing. We transfer funds to our local partners in USD and absorb all FX related costs and transfers. Private donors cover The Foundation of Light’s operating costs so 100% of your money can fund projects you’re passionate about!
All donations made via credit card on foundationoflight.org are charged in Canadian dollars.
Yes, we welcome donations from around the world. All donations on our website are charged in Canadian dollars. You can donate with a non Canadian credit card and your credit card will charge you the equivalent in Canadian dollars. Please note, your credit card issuer may charge you additional fees incurred with the transaction.

When you donate to The Foundation of Light, you can be assured that your donation is making an impact in the area that needs it the most. The Foundation of Light accounts for every dollar donated and we do not charge any administration fees ensuring every dollar of your donation is put towards the projects you are most passionate about. In addition, annual audits are conducted by external firms to verify the accuracy of our financials.
The Foundation of Light communicates regularly and works closely with our local in-country partners to monitor and ensure successful completion of all our projects. Our staff regularly visit our local partners and the field to validate the work being carried out.
Absolutely, when you donate online at foundationoflight.org you will immediately receive a donation acknowledgement. Tax receipts are issued once a month for the prior month.

The Foundation of Light regularly receives requests for funding towards many great causes. As a Canadian registered charity, we can only work with certified local partner organizations and can only consider projects that meet our objective and charter.
